Several graduate students and a Pharm.D. student from The University of Texas College of Pharmacy secured awards and fellowships from the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (AFPE).

Last week, The University of Texas System Board of Regents announced an exciting new healthcare initiative that will greatly benefit the College of Pharmacy, University and community at large. Where the Erwin Center currently stands will transform into a world-class academic medical center for education, research and patient care.

Ph.D. student in the Division of Health Outcomes James Baffoe, Pharm.D. is a recipient of the ClinicalMind Scholarship for Black Pharmacy Students from the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education.

Andrea C. Gore, Ph.D., professor of pharmacology and toxicology and Vacek Chair in Pharmacology, recently earned an R35 RIVER grant award from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) for her lab’s research on endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) and their effect on the brain. The NIEHS, which is one of the centers in the National Institutes of Health (NIH), awarded a total of $6,823,672 for eight years.

Kimberly J. Long, a Ph.D. candidate in the Dalby Lab in the Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry, was a first author of a recent research paper published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy placed in the top ten in the entire country in the percentage of match placements with 91%, compared to the national match placement average of 82%.

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) Foundation awarded The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy Office of Diversity, Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion with a $15,000 Diversity Scholarship Award to expand the college's Project Engage Pharmacy Program (PEPP).

The Nineteenth Annual Louis C. Littlefield Celebrating Pharmacy Research Excellence Day was held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, highlighting the impressive accomplishments of Texas Pharmacy researchers at all levels.
