The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy earns accolades for Best in Community Engagement, Best in Health Innovation, Best Project in Progress, Best in Visual and top 3 for People’s Choice Award at the Interprofessional Health Showcase 2023.

Dr. Leticia R. Moczygemba in the Division of Health Outcomes talked to ECHO, an agency that plans and implements community-wide strategies to end homelessness in Austin and Travis County, about the Interactive Care Coordination and Navigation (iCAN) program that studies how getting phones to more people living outside impacts their lives and health outcomes.

The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas granted UT’s Lee Lab $1 million to strengthen skin cancer research last month following breakthroughs in understanding how melanoma develops.

Two of the college's distinguished faculty in the Division of Health Outcomes and Division of Pharmacy Practice were recommended for promotion by President Hartzell due to their outstanding accomplishments in research, outreach and education. Dr. Tish Moczygemba will assume the rank of professor and Dr. Kristin Janzen will become a clinical associate professor.

Clinical Associate Professor in the Division of Pharmacotherapy Dr. Kirk Evoy spoke to CNN about the possibilities of making naloxone, a medication used to reverse or reduce the effects of opioids, available over-the-counter.

The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) has released its grant research funding awards for the upcoming year. All three awarded research projects at The University of Texas at Austin involve College of Pharmacy faculty.

This year, college welcomes Daniel San Miguel and Adriana Vargus through the BOOT program, providing a generous 12-month stipend plus paid tuition for the first academic year in order to to increase the recruitment, retention and preparation of trainees from diverse backgrounds.

Two of the college's distinguished faculty in the Division of Pharmacotherapy were recommended for promotion by President Hartzell. Dr. Kelly R. Reveles will assume the rank of associate professor and Dr. Kirk Evoy will become a clinical associate professor. Both promotions go into effect September 1, 2022.

A paper from UT College of Pharmacy researchers was awarded the 2021 Outstanding Paper of the Year from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Ambulatory Care Practice Research Network. The paper investigates the availability of buprenorphine and naloxone in Texas to treat opioid use disorder.

The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) recently awarded grants to six faculty members at UT Austin, including the Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry's Kevin Dalby, Ph.D. for his Targeted Therapeutic Drug Discovery and Development Program.
