Crismon Receives Paul R. Dawson Award

Behrens Inc. Centennial Professor Emeritus and former College of Pharmacy Dean Dr. M. Lynn Crismon was awarded the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) 2024 Paul R. Dawson Award for Excellence in Patient Care Research. The Dawson Awards are AACP's highest honors and recognize outstanding contributions made to pharmacy education, research, patient outcomes, community service and academic publishing.

Two of the college's distinguished faculty in the Division of Health Outcomes and Division of Pharmacy Practice were recommended for promotion by President Hartzell due to their outstanding accomplishments in research, outreach and education. Opioid Use Disorder Paper Earns ACCP Award

A paper from UT College of Pharmacy researchers was awarded the 2021 Outstanding Paper of the Year from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) Ambulatory Care Practice Research Network. The paper investigates the availability of buprenorphine and naloxone in Texas to treat opioid use disorder.

Nathan Pope Named New Assistant Dean

Nathan Pope, Pharm.D., BCACP, FACA has been named The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy’s new assistant dean of experiential education and will succeed Jennifer Ridings-Myhra, M.Ed., R.Ph., who plans to work with Dr. Pope through July and August to assist in the transition. The start date for this new role is effective July 1, 2021.

M. Lynn Crismon Wins ASHP Distinguished Leadership Award

M. Lynn Crismon, Pharm.D. has been named the recipient of the 2021 Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Board of Directors. The award is one of the highest honors in the pharmacy profession.

TxCORE Research Wins PhRMA Foundation Award

Three researchers from the College of Pharmacy won an award from the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) Foundation. Leticia R. Moczygemba, Pharm.D., Ph.D., Carolyn M. Brown, Ph.D. and Michael Johnsrud, Ph.D., R.Ph. were awarded $5,000 from the PhRMA Foundation for their proposal to advance racial and ethnic representation in value assessments.
