Nixon and Hill Earn Faculty Promotions

Two of the College of Pharmacy’s distinguished faculty were recently promoted due to their outstanding accomplishments in research, outreach and education. Dr. Kimberly Nixon of the Division of Pharmacology and Toxicology will assume the rank of professor and Dr. Lucas G. Hill of the Division of Pharmacy Practice will become a clinical associate professor.

Laura Cannon: An Empathetic Voice for Patients & Students

Laura Cannon, Pharm.D., MPH, is an oncology pharmacist and clinical assistant professor at the UT College of Pharmacy. She was in her residency when her late husband was diagnosed with cancer. Her experience shapes her unique perspective as she works to simplify the education process surrounding cancer treatment.

Peppas to Receive Prestigious Oesper Award in Honor of Contributions to Chemistry

Nicholas A. Peppas, Sc.D. has been honored with the 2020 Oesper Award from the University of Cincinnati’s Chemistry Department and the Cincinnati Section of the American Chemical Society for his outstanding accomplishments in and contributions to science. The award recognizes his work in biomaterials, drug delivery, bionanotechnology, and nanomaterials.

Dr. Frei awarded 2018 Educator of the Year

Dr. Christopher R. Frei was declared the College of Pharmacy’s 2018 Educator of the Year Award winner. The announcement was one of several teaching awards to college faculty announced recently at the student-sponsored awards ceremony.
