
The Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education develops and delivers quality continuing education activities that aim to meet the life-long professional development needs of pharmacy-related audiences. The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

Live Conferences
This type of program involves coming to a specific site for a set number of hours to listen to a series of speakers on predetermined topics. Participants are required to fill out a program evaluation form and attend all portions of the program for which they would like to receive continuing education credit.

Hospital Practice Seminar
This 15+ hour CPE seminar provides important updates relevant to clinical or hospital-based pharmacists. The HPS promotes a culture of team-based, interprofessional collaboration as a solution to providing innovative patient care. 19.5 CPE hours

Online Home Study Courses
The objective of these courses is to update pharmacists’ knowledge of current concepts in pharmacy at their own pace, without having to attend a live event. Each course consists of written material covering a given subject, along with a post-test. Some home study courses also include an audio and/or a visual aid.

Preceptor Conference and Online Training
The University of Texas College of Pharmacy hosts the annual Preceptor Orientation and Training Conference every August for UT Austin College of Pharmacy Preceptors.
The goal of this conference, is to introduce, update, reinforce and enhance the precepting skills of UT-affiliated preceptors so they may more effectively supervise pharmacy students and residents.
