Research Interests

  • While completing the Bachelor degree at University of Texas at Austin, Xin has participated in multiple research projects. In her undergraduate junior year, she was in a team of three students that analyzed data to support an application to UT to implement a learning program for science majors. In her senior year, she was working in a lab that seeks to learn the functionality and structure of proteins involved in the CRISPR system, specifically with the Cas9 protein. Currently, Xin enrolled in the Pharmacology and Toxicology PhD program at University of Texas at Austin. Her project focuses on the mechanisms and functions of non-coding RNAs in pediatric neuroblastoma, including investigating the disruption of microRNA miR-34a through multiple genetic mechanisms, understanding of the dysregulation of long noncoding RNA H19, and attempting to develop targeted delivery of siRNA-conjugates

Why did you choose UT PharmTox?

  • The research projects available at UT PharmTox are outstanding. I was particularly drawn to toxicology, which perfectly aligns with my interests and career aspirations
