Pharm.D. Program

What Starts Here Changes the World

The Pharm.D. program emphasizes an integrated and problem-based approach to disease management as the core of the didactic and laboratory program of study. The capstone of the Pharm.D. program is a series of seven, six-week rotations known as the internship. Each internship course includes 40 to 50 hours per week of on-site experience (Experiential Programs) supervised by practitioner faculty.

In addition, Pharm.D. students are supported by the Office of Student Affairs, which provides one-stop, comprehensive services to all current and prospective Pharm.D. students.

Pharm.D. Curriculum

The professional curriculum is structured around an integrated approach to drug therapy management, and our Pharm.D. program consistently ranks among the top programs in the nation.

Experiential Education

Pharmacy practice experiences ensure that students gain the best possible professional practice experience in an interprofessional collaborative practice (IPE) environment. Student activities are designed to develop contemporary clinical practitioners able to meet the increasingly complex health care and drug therapy needs of patients.

Interprofessional Education

Interprofessional collaborative practice and team-based care is critical to the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of quality health care across the continuum of care. The University of Texas College of Pharmacy places priority in fostering an interprofessional collaborative culture among its students, faculty, and staff with other health professions on campus, in the community, and across health systems.

Office of Student Affairs

With the vision of dynamically optimizing the student experience, the Office of Student Affairs provides a variety of opportunities and services to support admissions and academic advising, along with enhancing students’ character, community, and career-readiness.
