Broad research interest: Research in the Fonken lab broadly focuses on how interactions between the immune, nervous, and endocrine systems can regulate complex behavioral processes such as cognitive and mood related behaviors. There are currently two main research directions:

Project 1. Targeting neuroinflammatory responses in the aged brain to improve cognitive function.

Project 2. Understanding the mechanisms by which the circadian system regulated neuroimmune function.
