Marissa Schlaifer serves as Vice President, Policy, for Optum, with responsibility for public policy related to Optum Rx, Optum Health, Optum Insight and their component businesses. Her career has focused on healthcare policy, pharmacy benefit design, regulatory affairs, issue advocacy and business development. She previously worked as an independent consultant and served as director of pharmacy and regulatory affairs at the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, where she worked on Medicare Part D, Medicaid, Health Insurance Exchanges and pharmacy benefit regulation. She also held policy, patient care, pharmacy director, contracting and pharmacy management roles with CVS Health, H-E-B Grocery Company, PacifiCare of Texas and Eckerd Drug Company.
Marissa has served as president of AMCP and as secretary and speaker of the House of Delegates for the Texas Pharmacy Association. She has volunteered as a pharmacist at the Arlington Free Clinic since 2006.
Marissa received her B.S. in Pharmacy and M.S. in Pharmacy Administration from The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy.
