Dr. An received an MD from Taishan Medical College, an MS in Clinical Pharmacology from Fudan University, and a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from SUNY Buffalo. Prior to joining academia as a faculty member, Dr. An worked in Ruijin Hospital for two years as a clinical pharmacist, and worked at Abbott for two and a half years as a senior clinical pharmacokineticist.
Her current research interests include mechanism-based pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling of small-molecule compounds and protein drugs; model-informed drug development (MIDD); model-informed clinical care (MICC); population pharmacokinetic modeling of drugs in special populations; and quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP).
Dr. An as been in the PK/PD field for over 15 years and has published 93 peer-reviewed articles. She is an editor of the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology and serves as an editorial board member for the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The AAPS Journal, and the Journal of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics.
