Dr. Francis Lam, clinical associate professor of pharmacotherapy, has been awarded the Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award.

Lam’s nomination was submitted by U System by the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio where he has a cross appointment as professor in the Department of Pharmacology. He was among four members of the San Antonio-based campus to receive the award and the only recipient from the College of Pharmacy for 2015.

“Dr. Lam directs various pharmacology courses for dental, doctoral and physician assistant students. His courses are active learning experiences and his innovations in course development have proven to be effective and exemplary,” said Dean Lynn Crismon.

Within the College of Pharmacy, Lam teaches pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenetics, and pharmacotherapy.

The award is the foremost teaching honor in the UT System, recognizing excellence of the highest degree. Awardees are presented a monetary award of $25,000. The Board of Regents established the award system in 2008. Since then, several college faculty have been named recipients.
