Today’s students deserve the chance to build adaptable, hands-on entrepreneurial skills. NEXXUS takes learning beyond the classroom, involving students directly in bioscience decision-making for healthcare product development.
What is NEXXUS?

NEXXUS is a powerful cross-campus partnership at The University of Texas at Austin launched between the College of Pharmacy, McCombs School of Business and Dell Medical School.
Teams of graduate and professional students from each school collaborate to explore the most valuable uses of emerging technologies.
NEXXUS participants gain hands-on experience by evaluating and advancing a healthcare or bioscience innovation, culminating in a pitch presentation to the NEXXUS Advisory Board.
The NEXXUS Model
A key feature of NEXXUS is a three to four week Apprenticeship Experience that places students inside pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical, or medical device companies for hands-on learning.
These apprenticeships give students direct experience with product development while offering companies fresh insights and access to driven emerging talent.
Through NEXXUS, participants learn by doing, gaining healthcare business knowledge and building industry connections.
