Dr. Cheryl Beal Anderson is the founder and chief executive officer of ACE Regulatory Affairs Consulting, LLC. She has more than 25 years of pharmaceutical, biopharma and biotech experience in regulatory affairs where she held roles of increasing responsibility at Parke-Davis, Pfizer, Eli Lilly & Company, Lundbeck, LLC and Upsher Smith Laboratories, LLC., an affiliate of Sawai Pharmaceuticals in Osaka, Japan. 

Dr. Anderson has a passion for addressing the unmet medical needs of patients with few to no therapeutic options. Her focus is early-stage biopharma therapeutics and biotech product development innovation and inclusion, with focus in CNS, Oncology and rare/orphan disease designated products. As an independent consulting firm, Anderson is an invited scientific advisor for early-stage founders/CEOs in the Accelerator for Cancer Therapeutics at the Texas Medical Center Innovation and supported by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas.  Anderson was previously senior vice-president, executive member and global head of regulatory affairs, drug safety and quality when at Upsher-Smith Laboratories, LLC.    She was responsible for leading the organization development people, budget and resource planning, introducing quality and regulatory information management systems, assisting her team in delivering regulatory strategies, on-time submissions, due diligence evaluations, and regulatory health authority engagement. Prior to a career in pharma, Anderson was Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Texas, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. 

Dr. Anderson is a director on the board of the Center for Healthcare Innovation, which conducts research and educational forum to advance inclusion of underrepresented patient groups in clinical research, artificial intelligence/machine learning.  She is a board advisor to PEP!IN, People Empowering People for Inclusion Now, a women-owned and led research, recruitment, and technology solutions firm, that seeks to revolutionize the clinical research, recruitment, and patient engagement landscape.  Anderson is currently a member of the University of Texas at Austin, Texas Pharmacy Advisory Council; and was past member of the University of Minnesota, Dean’s Advisory Council. 

Dr. Anderson completed her bachelor’s degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University.  Anderson received her undergraduate pharmacy degree, followed by graduate Doctor of Pharmacy  from the University of Texas at Austin, then completed an ASHP Accredited Residency in Psychiatric Clinical Pharmacy Practice.  She later went on to earn an MBA in Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Marketing from Saint Josephs’ University, Haubs School of Business in Philadelphia, PA.  She is a life-long learner and continuously seeks to hone her skills and experiences to meet the demands and challenges of navigating new therapeutic products through regulatory authority approval and commercial launch.

Anderson is an advocate for innovation and inclusion during clinical development,  addressing health disparities via clinical research and is a speaker on leadership, STEM careers, work-life integration and self-care.  She has contributed to establishing the company’s first, and being an executive sponsor for, Employee Resource Groups at three companies.  Anderson holds professional membership in BioNTX, the Women Business Leaders in US Healthcare, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, Drug Information Association and Regulatory Affairs Professional Society.  She participates in community service projects of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., The Links, Inc. and is a lifetime member of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.

Anderson is married to her husband Donnie; they have raised and nurtured two children and reside in Spring, Texas.  Together they travel and enjoy going to movies their opening weekend.  They are fans of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorn football, and the Houston Astros and cheer for the Minnesota Wild Hockey team.
