Jim Smeeding, R.Ph., MBA, is a healthcare and pharmacy executive with 51 years of experience across specialty pharmacy, pharmacoeconomics, managed care, hospital pharmacy, home infusion and disease management. He is the former executive director of NASP and founder/president of Indication Biosciences, focused on early-stage drug discovery involving CBD and statin agents.
He founded or led several healthcare organizations, including Engaged Media, the Center for Pharmacoeconomic Studies at The University of Texas at Austin, and Project Rx. He is an original founder and former president of ISPOR, now a global organization with more than 19,000 members.
His work spans major pharmaceutical companies, payers, PBMs, wholesalers, biotech firms, medical device companies, diagnostic testing and multiple pharmacy sectors. He has authored more than 102 peer-reviewed publications, delivered hundreds of presentations and received over 1,500 scientific citations.
