Daniel J. Siegwart is Professor and W. Ray Wallace Distinguished Chair in Molecular Oncology Research in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He received a B.S. in Biochemistry (Lehigh University), a Ph.D. in Chemistry (Carnegie Mellon University) studying with Professor Krzysztof Matyjaszewski, and was an NSF EAPSI Research Fellow (University of Tokyo) with Professor Kazunori Kataoka. He then completed an NIH NSRA Postdoctoral Fellowship at MIT with Professor Robert Langer. He has been elected as a Fellow to the National Academy of Inventors (NAl), the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) College of Fellows, and the Controlled Release Society (CRS) College of Fellows. He was recognized as an Emerging Leader in Health and Medicine (ELHM) Scholar by the National Academy of Medicine (NAM). The Siegwart Laboratory operates at the interface of materials chemistry, biomedical engineering, and molecular genetics. They ultimately aspire to make a beneficial impact on human health through
developing precision, cell-specific genomic medicines.
