Mike is a graduate student in Dr. Zhengrong Cui's laboratory at The University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on addressing formulation and delivery challenges associated with biologics. Mike received his BS in Biology and Toxicology from Oregon State University and his MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences from The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to returning to graduate school in 2023, Mike served as CTO and co-inventor at Disruption Labs – a contract development and manufacturing organization – where he developed and commercialized proprietary lipid encapsulation platforms for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and beverage applications. He also co-founded XEO Pharmaceuticals and served as President through its successful acquisition. Before XEO and Disruption, Mike joined Xeris Pharmaceuticals as Staff Scientist and R&D Operations Manager, where he worked with a seasoned team to advance the company's pipeline of injectable products.
