Rex graduated from Arizona State University with his bachelors and masters in Biomedical Engineering. Also, while at ASU he worked for Sonoran Biosciences, a start-up company focusing on the development of an antimicrobial loaded temperature responsive hydrogel for the treatment of surgical site infections. Rex joined the Smyth Research group in 2020 where he is researching inhaled antibiotics for the treatment of bacterial lung infections.
