Since 1948, Honors Day has been a proud tradition at The University of Texas at Austin, a day dedicated to recognizing our most exceptional students. These remarkable Longhorns have earned the titles of College Scholars and Distinguished College Scholars by rising to meet — and often exceed — rigorous academic standards.

At UT, our mission is to help students unlock their full potential. Honors Day is our chance to celebrate those who’ve gone above and beyond, turning ambition into achievement and making their mark as the academic leaders of our community. On Saturday, April 5, top academic performers from The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy were recognized during the 77th Annual Honors Day celebration at the Texas Union. Students received honor cords and congratulations in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements, marking a proud moment of celebration and distinction within the Texas Pharmacy community.

Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs Renee' Acosta, R.Ph., M.S., brought energy and enthusiasm as the vibrant Master of Ceremonies. Kicking things off with flair, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs Justin Samuel, Ph.D., delivered a warm and thoughtful Introduction of Scholars while Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice Samantha Catanzano, Pharm.D., BCPP, took the stage for the Recognition of Scholars, making sure each honoree got their well-deserved moment to shine.

Distinguished College Scholars and College Scholars were recognized by the college, then proceeded to the Moody Center for the University-wide Honors Day Program hosted by Interim President James E. Davis. Each scholar who attended the ceremony received a set of honors cords that can be worn with academic regalia at Commencement. Distinguished College Scholars were also awarded a medallion on stage.
