
Vanessa Lopez, administrative manager in the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, has been chosen to receive a President’s Staff Award.
Lopez was among 30 staff members and two supervisors cited as having had a significant impact on the university. They were recognized at the May 13 President’s Staff Awards. The program honors and recognizes the invaluable contributions of non-teaching staff whose outstanding dedication, competence, conscientious performance, and excellent customer service has had a significant positive impact on the university. Each Outstanding Staff Award recipient received an honorarium of $1,500.
In 2008, Lopez moved from Fort Worth’s University of North Texas Health Science Center to work as an administrative associate in UT’s Office of Sponsored Projects. She was promoted to a senior grants and contracts specialists in OSP before joining the college’s Office of the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in 2012. In August 2015, her title changed to administrative manager of college research.
At the same awards ceremony, college staff members with service anniversaries were recognized for their loyalty and contributions to the success of the university. The UT tower was lit burnt orange in honor of the staff award recipients on May 13.
