Today, U.S. News & World Report released its 2024 rankings for graduate schools and graduate school programs across the United States. The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy rises to the sixth best pharmacy school in the country, solidifying its place as one of the top pharmacy schools in the country and the #1 pharmacy school in Texas.
The rankings are determined by the results of peer assessment surveys sent to deans, other administrators and/or faculty at accredited degree programs or schools in each discipline. UT Austin earned a fantastic 4.3 score on a 1 to 5 scale. Those respondents come from 141 schools and programs offering Doctor of Pharmacy degrees accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
“As the link between patients and medicine,” says U.S. News & World Report, “pharmacists must be experts on prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications, understanding use, side effects and mixtures of medicine.” These ranking results are reflective of the UT College of Pharmacy’s vision to be the leading college of pharmacy for innovative interdisciplinary education, research and service, revolutionizing patient care and health outcomes in Texas and the world.
“I am pleased that our skilled peers across the country have ranked Texas Pharmacy so highly,” says Samuel M. Poloyac, Pharm.D., Ph.D., dean of The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and James T. Doluisio Regents Chair. “Our rise in the college rankings can only occur through the impactful work of our talented students, faculty, staff, alumni and postdocs. Today we are all Longhorn proud together!”
