Thank You for Your Support During 40 for 40!

September 18, 2020

Greetings University of Texas College of Pharmacy Alumni and Friends,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My personal thanks to each and every one of you who donated during the university’s 40 for 40 campaign, allowing us to raise more than $24,000 in support of student professional development. A special thanks to UT College of Pharmacy Alumni Association President Alma Gutierrez, who personally contacted many people in support of this effort. A special Hook ‘em to you, Alma!

We take student professional development extremely seriously in the College of Pharmacy. We feel like our role at The University of Texas is not only to prepare competent and qualified pharmacists for the profession, but produce the next generation of leaders for pharmacy in health care.

We need leaders in pharmacy now more than ever. We need pharmacists who will lead changes in health care. We need pharmacists who will be involved in leadership and professional associations. We need pharmacists who are involved in advocacy; advocating for the quality of patient care, for access to patient care, for advancing pharmacy services, as well as advancing interprofessional, patient-centered, team-based care.

Because of your efforts, we will be able to further develop our student pharmacists so they’re prepared to be the leaders for our profession.

Take care of yourselves, have a great day, and Hook ‘em Horns!
