Few Cancer Survivors With Alcohol Use Disorder Receive Timely Treatment for It

Anton L.V. Avanceña, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the college's Division of Health Outcomes, is a co-author of a recent study featured in Cancer Therapy Advisor examining treatment gaps for alcohol use disorder (AUD) among cancer survivors. Dr. Avanceña discusses the study’s findings, including the low rates of treatment initiation and the need for integrated approaches to address AUD in oncology settings. His expertise in health outcomes research continues to inform efforts to improve care for cancer survivors.
