Texas Pharmacy Again Wins Insight Into Diversity HEED Award

The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy received the 2023 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine, the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education. This is the second year Texas Pharmacy has been named as a Health Professions HEED Award recipient and is one of six pharmacy schools in the nation to receive the award.

An independent advisory committee to the FDA has determined that phenylephrine, a popular ingredient in many over-the-counter allergy and cold medicines, is ineffective in tablet form. CNN and numerous other national news outlets quote from the College of Pharmacy's Associate Dean for Healthcare Partnerships Dr. Diane Ginsburg, who serves on the committee, regarding this decision.
