Career Fair and Residency & Fellowship Showcase

This annual event combines our Career Fair and Residency & Fellowship Showcase into one occurrence. Employers and programs have the opportunity to host a booth so they can connect with Pharm.D. students in all four years, pharmacy graduate students, and pre-pharmacy undergraduate students. This event occurs in October.

Questions regarding this event can be sent to phr.studentaffairs@austin.utexas.edu

P4 Interview Day

This annual event gives employers the opportunity to recruit P4 students for post-graduate opportunities. Employers offer 30-minute interview slots that students sign up for prior to P4 Interview Day. Employers can offer these slots on a first come, first served basis or pre-select the students they would like to interview via an application that students submit beforehand. This event occurs in October.

Questions regarding this event can be sent to phr.studentaffairs@austin.utexas.edu.

P1 Internship Interview Day

This annual event gives employers the opportunity to recruit P1 students for summer internship opportunities. Employers offer 30-minute interview slots that students sign up for prior to P1 Internship Interview Day. Employers can offer these slots on a first come, first served basis or pre-select the students they would like to interview via an application that students submit beforehand. This event occurs in January.

New Student Orientation (NSO)

Occurring the week before classes begin in August, NSO features a variety of programming for new Pharm.D. students. Employers can sponsor a meal during NSO, providing sponsors the opportunity to network directly with new students. Sponsorship would be reflected in the printed NSO program that all new students receive. This event occurs in-person.

Questions regarding this event can be sent to phr.studentaffairs@austin.utexas.edu.

Foundations of Professional Development (FPD)

FPD is a course sequence that all Pharm.D. students take for six semesters throughout their first three years in the Pharm.D. program. The course invites pharmacy leaders from various fields to speak with student pharmacists in a classroom setting. Speakers will be expected to discuss their career journey and day-to-day operations in their current role; effective speakers will have strategies to engage a large group of students.

If your organization is interested in sending a speaker to FPD, please email Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Justin Samuel, at jsamuel@austin.utexas.edu
