Awards - Residency Preceptor & Residency Program

Background

The ASHP Research and Education Foundation (REF) has offered the Pharmacy Residency Excellence Awards (PREA) Program since 2006.

The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy has created an awards program that emulates the ASHP REF awards in order recognize College of Pharmacy affiliated residency preceptors and programs,  while also creating a mechanism to nominate programs for the ASHP Pharmacy Residency Excellence Awards and the TSHP Residency Program Excellence Award.

Award winners will be recognized at the Austin and San Antonio Residency Banquets held annually in the respective cities.

Residency Preceptor Award

The Preceptor Award criteria focuses on innovative methods of training, mentoring, and motivating residents during their residency program.

Residency Program Award

The Program Award recognizes a pharmacy residency program that has a reputation for excellence in the training of residents and consistent provision of an exceptionally positive and rewarding training experience.

By recognizing these programs and their accomplishments, they can serve as role models in sustained excellence, achievement, and innovation in residency training.
