I'm a Houston native! In my free time, I love hanging out with friends, trying new foods (I'm a HUGE foodie, so let me know if you need any recommendations in Austin), and traveling. A fun fact about me is that my name means "healing or medicine," so I could say that this was my calling!
Why did you choose the College of Pharmacy at UT Austin?
I chose the College of Pharmacy at UT Austin because of its strong reputation for academic excellence, research opportunities, and supportive community. The program offers a well-rounded curriculum that emphasizes both clinical practice and professional development, which aligns with my long term goals in pharmacy. I was particularly drawn to UT Austin’s commitment to innovation and its wide range of experiential learning opportunities. As someone who manages responsibilities both in Austin and in Houston, I also appreciated the program’s flexibility and access to a strong alumni network throughout Texas. Additionally, the opportunity to learn in an environment that encourages leadership and service was a key factor in my decision.
What do you enjoy about being a student ambassador and a student in the College of Pharmacy?
Being a student ambassador has been incredibly rewarding. I enjoy welcoming prospective students, leading tours, and helping them navigate their questions about pharmacy school. It’s meaningful to be a part of their journey and to represent a program I genuinely believe in. As a student, I’ve also appreciated the collaborative and inclusive environment within the college. Faculty are approachable and supportive, and the diverse range of student organizations allows me to stay engaged in areas I’m passionate about, like public health and community service. The friendships I’ve built and the mentorship I’ve received have made my time here both professionally and personally fulfilling.
What career path within pharmacy do you anticipate pursuing upon graduation?
I am currently interested in pursuing a career in either ambulatory care or compounding pharmacy. Ambulatory care appeals to me because of the direct patient interactions and the opportunity to manage chronic conditions. On the other hand, I also have a growing interest in compounding, especially given the hands on, detail oriented nature of the work. I’m intrigued by how it allows pharmacists to create personalized medications and address specific patient needs that commercially available products can’t meet.

Hello! My name’s Morgan, and I was born and raised in Round Rock, Texas. In my free time, I like to go to spin classes, thrift stores, and spend time with friends and family. A fun fact about me is that I’ve been to over 20 concerts (my most recent is Beabadoobee and The Marias).
Why did you choose the College of Pharmacy at UT Austin?
I chose UT Austin’s College of Pharmacy because it is the #1 pharmacy school in Texas, known for its exceptional academic standards, supportive faculty, and student community. I was especially drawn to the diversity and immense amount of opportunities that the school has to offer, which was something I valued as someone who entered pharmacy school unsure of what route they wish to pursue. Additionally, the school is close to home, and nothing beats my parents’ home cooking.
What do you enjoy about being a student ambassador and a student in the College of Pharmacy?
I love being able to connect with prospective students and give them reassurance that while the program can be tough, there is a huge support system that is ready and waiting for them here. As a student, I have always felt supported by the faculty, as well as the community that we have cultivated here at the college.
What career path within pharmacy do you anticipate pursuing upon graduation?
As of now, I am trying to keep all options open and continue exploring the different pathways during my 4th year rotations. That said, I am currently leaning towards pursuing a residency with the goal of working in a hospital or ambulatory care setting in the future.

Give us some background on yourself (where you’re from, any hobbies, fun facts).
I was born in Conroe, Texas; however, my dad was in the Marine Corps for 25 years, so I’ve called many different cities home! In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking (especially anything pumpkin-flavored), going on daily walks, and binge-watching a good TV series. One fun fact about me is that I have a twin sister, and we're only two minutes apart but look nothing alike!
Why did you choose the College of Pharmacy at UT Austin?
I chose to attend the UT Austin College of Pharmacy not only because of its strong reputation, but also because of the brand and recognition that come with being a UT Austin-trained pharmacist. The College thoroughly equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to become successful, well-rounded pharmacists who stand out in their communities. I actually toured the college with a pharmacy ambassador before making my final decision, and after that tour, I knew 100% that this is where I belong. In addition to being the #1 ranked pharmacy school in Texas, the environment here is truly unmatched—it feels like one big pharmily!
What do you enjoy about being a student ambassador and a student in the College of Pharmacy?
My favorite part about being a student ambassador is engaging with prospective and incoming students whether it’s through tours, phone calls, or my personal favorite, prospective student pre-interview day. I find great joy in sharing my experiences at the College of Pharmacy and explaining why I chose UT Austin over other pharmacy schools. As a student here, I love being surrounded by friends, professors, and staff who genuinely want to help me succeed and go out of their way to support both my professional and personal goals.
What career path within pharmacy do you anticipate pursuing upon graduation?
After graduation, I plan to pursue a PGY1 residency and eventually a PGY2 in either internal medicine or ambulatory care. I’m still exploring the exact specialty I want to pursue since I find many areas of pharmacy fascinating!
