Interested in business administration? The UT Austin College of Pharmacy is excited to announce a new partnership with McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
Business core courses seek to provide a contemporary real-world managerial perspective. Core courses set the foundation for students to later tailor their degree with specific goals through elective courses. Additional areas of specialization in health innovation and entrepreneurship may be of interest and value to these dual degree candidates.
The MBA degree is widely recognized as a valuable supplemental degree for professionals who desire to build and lead enterprises that create value in a dynamic, global economy.

Program Details
Overview
The concurrent Pharm.D./MBA program is designed to be completed in five years.
Students begin the Pharm.D. curriculum in Year 1, complete the MBA first‑year sequence in Year 2, and then finish the remaining Pharm.D. coursework in Years 3–5, taking MBA electives as needed.
To earn both degrees, students must complete 153 credit hours for the Pharm.D. and 44 credit hours for the MBA, for a combined total of 197 credit hours. This reflects an overall reduction of 11 hours from the standalone Pharm.D. and 15 hours from the standalone MBA, since the programs accept certain courses from the other degree to meet elective requirements.
The reduced total is achieved by using coursework from each program to satisfy elective requirements in the other. The College of Pharmacy will accept up to 11 MBA credit hours, and the McCombs School will accept up to 15 Pharm.D. credit hours.
