The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy invites you to the second Risk Management in the Healthcare Academy summit, taking place May 20 and 21, 2027, in Austin, Texas.

About the Summit
Building on the success of our 2024 program, we are expanding this critical event from pharmacy to include all healthcare disciplines, transforming it into a vital Interprofessional Education (IPE) experience.

The program is designed to facilitate robust policy review and campus discussions on risk management by covering key topics (such as artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, recruitment and admissions, experiential education and student safety, student and institutional well-being, research contracts and partnerships, and other topics) through four distinct perspectives for each topic followed by round-table discussions. For example, a single topic will feature expert insights on AI's impact on student and research compliance from the unique vantage points of Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Dental schools, ensuring a comprehensive and nuanced discussion.

Our Goal: Driving Campus Change
The primary purpose of the event is to provide college and school leaders with actionable insights to review, refine, and implement changes to their campus policies and procedures. Following our 2024 summit, over 70% of participating schools reported successfully launching policy discussions and making tangible changes back on campus.

Unique Attendance Model
To ensure maximum reach while keeping costs low, we utilize a unique registration model:

  • In-Person Delegates: Each participating college or school registers as a unit, sending a few key leaders (Deans, Associate Deans, etc.) to attend in-person in Austin.
  • Virtual Campus Access: All other key staff and leaders on their home campus can view the entire content via a live broadcast and recordings.

This structure allows campus leaders to network and discuss key issues with their peers in Austin while simultaneously leveraging the live content to inform and direct discussions with staff back on campus.

Who Should Participate?
We are actively expanding in partnership with AACP to include leaders from Medical, Nursing, Social Work, Counseling, Dental, Therapy, and other healthcare colleges nationwide. We anticipate approximately 60 schools participating in the 2026 Summit.

Registration Opens in July!
