This event features speakers and panels that will provide an overview of some key legal issues frequently faced by academic pharmacy administrators. Each session will review strategies for addressing issues and resolutions, and interactive law sessions with application-based cases will be delivered by content experts. The topics will focus on legal issues impacting recruitment, experiential education, employment law, contracts and partnerships with outside organizations, FERPA and HIPAA rules and regulations, business offices, residency contracts and more. Attendees will be able to discuss current legal issues in higher education, evaluate legal issues facing higher education administrators in colleges/schools of pharmacy, and formulate strategies for continued legal preparedness of academic administrators in schools of pharmacy.

The format of the meeting was developed so that every key stakeholder at your institution can attend. The program includes in-person attendance and online live broadcast. All sessions will be recorded for later viewing. This way, institution leaders can attend the sections most relevant to their work.

2024 Meeting Quick Facts
  • Where: The Otis Hotel in Austin, Texas, adjacent to The University of Texas at Austin
  • When: May 20-21, with a welcome reception the evening of Sunday, May 19
  • What: The program will offer six themed focus presentations and panel discussions on specific focus areas of higher education law
  • Who: Full administrative teams – Colleges are encouraged to send at least two in-person attendees, with up to 18 additional administrators attending online
Agenda

The program will follow “Lightning Talk” format. There will be six total topics, and each topic will include an opening presentation followed by four mini presentations within the topic, providing different perspectives. The topic will conclude with an open panel discussion for the audience (in-person and online viewers), allowing participants a chance to get their issues addressed

Registration

Institutional registrations allow all leadership members at your college access to the content. Oftentimes, only a select group of leaders get access to these types of programs. With institutional registrations, all key stakeholders in the college or even members of university legal teams can have access. 

Institutional Registrations are $3,900 per institution before March 1. The rate increases to $4,400 after March 1.

This includes:

  • Up to four in-person registrations
  • Access to live broadcast for 16 additional attendees, for a total of 20 registrations
  • All registrants will have access to recorded content following the event

CPE/Law Credit

All programs will offer CPE and CLE credit.

The program is expected to have 13+ CE hours.

When colleges register, the full team at your institution gains access to all content. This means all your administrators can view the content, including:
