The Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program at the STVHCS in conjunction with The University of Texas College of Pharmacy has been accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists since 2005. The program is designed to provide a challenging training opportunity for individuals desiring to develop clinical competency in the specialized area of psychiatric pharmacy. The 12-month training period incorporates outpatient, inpatient, and residential experiences devoted to the development of skills essential for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients with mental illness.  This residency allows for ample teaching opportunities, both didactic and preceptorship, as well as offers a formal teaching certificate program.
